AIM HIGH

Do you have a goal? Have something you are working towards? A better relationship with your husband/wife? A better job... something you love doing--that actually pays? (lol) A bigger home? A newer car? A healthy lifestyle? A stronger relationship with God? Whatever you are striving toward... good news... it's totally achievable.


Did you know that God has called you to set out and do great things? In one of my all time favorite books of the bible- Philippians- Paul talks about so many amazing topics- He constantly talks about the importance of Christ and the importance of relying on Him. Philippians 3:13-14 talks about moving forward. 


I know that I have not yet reached that goal, but there is one thing I always do. Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead,¹⁴ I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above. ~Philippians 3:13-14 ncv


When I was younger, I remember my parents had a wooden rocking chair in the living room. It had an orange seat cushion on it. It was a beautiful chair- the headpiece a had this really pretty design carved into it and the arm rest were curved under-- it was heavy too (lol) I know because somehow I always had the chore of vacuuming the dining room and the living room. Whenever I read the different stories in the bible, and they talk about "moving forward" or "pressing toward the goal" -- it makes me think of this chair; It reminds me that I can't just rock back and forth in my wooden rocking chair-I have to press forward and strive toward the goal that I have set out before me. To remember that God Himself called ME-- He called ME-- to do His glorious work. WOW-- I mean who am I?!!! WOW- amazing!!

You know something? God just didn't call ME-- He called YOU too- Keep moving forward!!!

Remember that the next time a task seems to big-- know that The Big Man upstairs breathed your life into motion and wants you to something big for Him!! You may never know or understand what exactly it is that God has called you to do in this life... sometimes it's for Him to know and you to never find out... but isn't it awesome knowing that you are here MOVING FORWARD for Him?!


I challenge you to keep moving forward- even when life is messy, when you feel like you just can't go on anymore- you're tired and weak-- but you know what? God is there to give you His strength- the bible says when we are weak- it is God who makes us strong!!! Be encouraged :)

Make a list of your goals, things you'd like to see happen... write them out-- cross them off when they are completed :) You may never see your greatest goal achieved-- but why not try? I had a teacher that used to tell me "Michelle, even if it looks like you can't reach the stars, aim high as if you can reach them."

May you "aim high" and not forget to invite God along for the ride.

Life is too short NOT to have fun & enjoy it!!

SUCH true statements!!! Life is too short to-- be sad, be mad, regret, look back, be depressed and be unkind!!! & may I add not to forgive each other~

You know we can be these nasty things if we want too-- but why? It certainly doesn't bring joy to us-- and it doesn't bring joy to God that's for sure! There's a few places in the bible that give us instruction as to live our life pleasing to God. Colossians 1 is just one place where you will find some awesome instruction!! 

Colossians 1:10-12

¹⁰ so that you will live the kind of life that honors and pleases the Lord in every way. You will produce fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God.¹¹ God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient. ¹² And you will joyfully give thanks to the Father who has made you^[a] able to have a share in all that he has prepared for his people in the kingdom of light.

Also, in Philippians 3 it talks about continuing toward the ultimate goal- the prize that God has set out before us!! He wants us to draw near to Him so He can draw near to us- Accept Jesus Christ as our Savior-- He wants us to forget the past and strive toward the future!!! 

Keep moving forward!!! Keep marching on through the "red clay" days... Keep positive thinking and meditate on things that bring you joy, hope, kindness, love, peace, anything praiseworthy or noble or true!!!! (Philippians 4:8) 

God also makes everything new!! No matter your past-- 

Revelation 21:5
